I am writing this review after months of hoping that I would get an resolution to my issues. Currently, I am seeking council as well. My review stems from safety concerns. I live in an upstairs 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit. I have a wife and 3 year old daughter that live with me as well. The apartment complex itself was seemingly great for family living when I signed my lease, lots of walking trails and a safe drive area to be able to take walks in the summer, the lack of a swingset or play area of any kind did not bother me as we were close enough in driving distance to go to several great parks. The build quality of the apartments however, makes this an unsatisfactory place for a family to live. Upon moving in, my wife had noticed a loud noise against our floor (our neighbors ceiling) at random times throughout the day. I expect some noise in an apartment, but I had not accounted for such a loud noise. I confronted the neighbor nicely, and he had informed me he was taking a soccer ball to his ceiling to let us know exactly what it sounds like when we walk around our apartment. He works from home and wants absolute silence. We had a discussion and he agreed to stop his "soccer" technique and I agreed to make sure my 3 year old did not run *(which she doesnt). Things were better and then a few months later it started again. My wife confronted him and then it stopped for another few months, until it started again. This time we decided to contact the office. My daughter was in tears at the noise and at 3 years old, described the incident to the manager and how she had to hide under a pillow. The office manager assured us that she would speak to the man downstairs. She did not. She spoke to his wife. A few weeks later, it happened again, again we contacted the office, she assured us she would speak to the tenant, again, she claims she spoke to his wife. CHRISTMAS EVE, it happened again, Again she said that she would speak to him and call me back. Finally she spoke to HIM in early January. He told her that we are loud all day, my daughter runs all day and is too loud for him to work. My daughter is out of the house for at least 6 hours of the day with nursery school and activities. Because of the poor flooring construction in the buildings, my neighbors say that when we vacuum, their plates rattle and that they can hear every word we say as well as even knowing when we have stomach issues. Let me add this note. The office manager had not ONCE called me back. I had to continuosly call the office and get her responses. I am considering this a safety concern. The gentlman downstairs has obvious issues with anger and that draws him to lash out against a 3 year old. The office manager however says that it is NOT a safety concern. What if he snaps one day? All I requested was to be moved to another unit (none were available at original request) or be let out of my lease without penalty. Request Denied. Also of note. I reported our dishwasher had been out of order and leaking in our apartment. One week later a maint. member came out and said it would be 1 to 2 weeks to get a new dishwasher. It has now been over 2 weeks. Meaning we have been without a Dishwasher for almost an entire month. This is an unacceptable response from a "Luxury" apartment. My family must walk on Tip Toes around the apartment, my wife vacuuming could cause a violent fit of rage from my neighbor and I have an office staff that would be willing to sit by and let that happen. No return phone calls. No concern. Not a good experience at all. There are some great things about this apartment complex. Matt in the office is extremely nice and efficient, the walking trails are great and there is not a lot of riff raff which is excellent. But the overall build quality of the buildings and the lack of caring from the office manager or the General Manager is concerning enough not to move a family in here. Overall, If you are an elderly person with no family and do not plan on moving around your apartment (walking), then this is a great place to live. If you plan on not sitting on the couch and using your house as a home, then rethink your decision. This is a prelude to other forms of discontent that I will be voicing on this matter as well as legal council. Beware.
