Company description
WHY Ranch offers a free specialized Equestrian Education program called "Diamonds in the Rough" which provides Socially-Challenged youth an opportunity to experience the Wild West heritage of Las Vegas. Our one child - one horse environment is tailored for each child’s specific needs. Our "Diamonds in the Rough " Program reaches out to children 5-18 years of age in Clark County, NV, by providing an enriching environment where they can learn new life skills such as proactive problem solving and resolution to adversity in their daily lives.
At WHY Ranch, children are transformed through deliberate mentorship and learn respect, empathy and acceptance, ultimately empowering and inspiring children to become responsible and contributing citizens in their families and communities.
WHY Ranch program offers a positive alternative to negative influences that may exist in a child's life.
We rely on volunteers of all ages to help our ranch staff with the daily task list, as well as miscellaneous jobs that arise. Some of the tasks that we need assistance in are:
horse chores, horse grooming, horse training, program assistance, events, office professional, fundraising, fellowship fridays, special ranch events, facility projects, facility repairs, and facility maintenance.
If you have a specific skill or gift that you would like to offer, please fill out our online volunteer interest form at: http://www.whyranch.org/#!volunteer-interest-form/cga9
