- Approximately 2.5 miles from I-275 northbound and southbound exits. From Tampa, take exit 32 (4th St. N). Follow Fourth St. to Gandy Blvd. and make a left. Make a right onto San Martin Blvd. and follow the road to Weedon Drive, on the left. The facility will be on the left. From St. Petersburg and Bradenton, take exit 28 (Pinellas Park, Seminole) and make a right. Follow Gandy Blvd. to San Martin Blvd., on the right. Follow San Martin Blvd. to Weedon Drive, on the left. Facility will be on the left.
- Worth Noting
- Weedon Island has an interesting history. Before it became a nature preserve, it served as an airport and a movie studio in the 1930's. Ancient Native American artifacts were also discovered at Weedon Island, establishing the existance of the "Weeden Island Culture", dating from 200-1200 AD.
