- Warner Pacific College is an accredited, urban Christian liberal arts college preparing students from diverse backgrounds for the challenges of the 21st Century. The college community is characterized by a relational educational atmosphere that promotes transformation, mutual responsibility, and personal excellence. Students engage in service in and awareness of the needs represented in the college's urban Portland, Oregon setting. Warner Pacific College serves more than 1,300 students, both traditional-aged and working -adult students with degree programs ranging from Associates to Masters level.The college offers 24 majors, 28 minors and 4 pre-professional programs.The college is committed to instilling in students a devotion to the practical liberal arts, enabling them to apply their faith and scholarship to the betterment of their communities and civic responsbility. In order to provide greater access to Christian higher education for all students, including first-generation and under-resourced students,Warner Pacific College recently restructured its tuition and financial aid for traditional students, reducing tuition by 23% for the 2008-2009 academic year. At present the College's tuition is 35% lower than the average for private colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest. Through Warner Pacific's core humanities curriculum, students explore the human condition and discover how faith and scholarship leads to lives of service.Warner Pacific College provides Adult Degree programs for working adults,licensure for public K-12 instruction and holds several memberships and authorizations including the Council for Independant Colleges, the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission of the State of Oregon and the Nation Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Warner Pacific College is accreditied by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The College was awarded a $290,000 grant from the Collins Foundation to launch a comphrensive Urban Studies program and academic major. In addition to the Urban Studies major also initiated a Peace Studies minor. Both programs reflect the urban mission and focus of the College. The urban context in which Warner Pacific College is situated provides students incredible opportunities for cultural engagement,amazing internships, and to participate in demanding inner-city service projects. The College's focus on its urban mission acknowledges the increasingly urban nature of our world and equips students to live, work and serve in urban settings.
