- Mission
- Urbana University emphasizes excellence in classroom instruction in a small university setting. More than 70 percent of our professors hold a Ph.D. or a terminal degree in their field. No instruction holds less than a master's degree. Urbana University is not a campus of classrooms of hundreds of students, where students get behind in their course work and are lost in a sea of faces. Out student-to-teach ratio of 13 to 1 means that Urbana students can receive the individual attention they need to get the most out of their course work and help them succeed in college and after graduation. Urbana students also have the opportunity to participate in athletics or take leadership roles in any of the wide variety of campus groups and activities. Service Learning is a part of our curriculum. Through Service Learning, students get involved in projects that benefit the communities in the area. They also have the opportunity to intern or volunteer at area businesses or agencies, thereby gaining practical experience in their field of study that can be invaluable in starting their career.
