- Construction on the Wide Hollow Dam will begin in late February or March of 2010. There will be no access to the reservoir throughout the year. The reservoir will reopen to water activities in 2011. The campground and hiking trails will remain open and relatively unaffected. Please use caution in and around the park as there will be large construction vehicles using the entrance road. It is illegal to gather firewood or remove petrified wood. Please bring your own firewood.
