This historic old home, known as the "Bennett Place" was build in 1889-1890. The prominent Cincinnati architect, Samuel E. des Jardins, was engaged to draw plans for the house of Queen Ann style with Romanesque detailing. It was the home of James and Sarah Clay (the daughter of notorious Caussius M. Clay, minister to Russia during the Lincoln administration) Bennett, thier five children, his two sisters, Belle Harris and Sue Bennett, and his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Chenault Bennett.
Today, present owners Richard & Rita Smart take you back to the slow-paced 1900’s but with an up-to-date conveniences.
