The Tanglewood Music Center is a large performance art and entertainment grounds, situated in the beautiful scenery of Lenox, Massachusetts. Concert Tickets for certain artists can and sometime will sell out within minutes. Many people always ask what they can do to get concert tickets they know are going to sell out. There are a few things that can certainly be done. One thing to do is sign up to artist’s mailing list or fan club. By joining the musician’s fan club, you not only get emails announcing their upcoming concerts our tour, but many also give their members a chance to get tickets before the general public.
Tanglewood has limited disabled parking, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let your need for access parking is known to a traffic warden or parking attendant when you arrive. Those with a valid government-issued parking permit are asked to clearly display it, and proceed to park at the designated disabled parking areas within the Tanglewood grounds.
Tanglewood’s history as a music venue began when Henry Kimball Hadley, composer and conductor began his search for a site and the support to make real his aim of establishing a seasonal classical music festival. Teaming up with Gertrude Robinson Smith, they organized a series of concerts featuring the New York Philharmonic Orchestra over 3 day’s in1934 at the Interlaken estate of Daniel Hanna, roughly a mile from the current festival site.
In addition to holding concerts from the top musicians in pop, jazz and classical, Tanglewood provides training for young musicians at the Tanglewood Music Center. However, with a bit of effort, you can stand a good chance of getting the tickets you want by looking for them online. On the web you can find tickets for shows that have supposedly sold out, and you can even pick up a few bargains as well.
