- The mission of Southeastern is to lead the educational, economic and cultural development of southeast Louisiana. The third largest university in Louisiana, Southeastern offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Southeastern maintains small class sizes allowing considerable interaction between faculty and students. Southeastern also is the second largest provider of distance education among state universities. The university-owned cable television channel, The Southeastern Channel, offers university-sponsored television programs including credit courses, concerts, lectures, theatrical productions, and career development and enhancement programs.
