Bruce Sokol, founding partner, started his career as an appraiser. Brokers kept asking him if he can do anything about high taxes dragging down the sales price of properties and making them harder to sell. Real estate taxes are an ad valorem tax, which is a fancy way of saying a tax on the value of property. Bruce realized that real estate taxes are completely based on what a property can sell for ... and who would be better able to determine this than an appraiser? Thus, for the last 25 years Bruce has concentrated on the business of lowering assessments and taxes on his clients' real estate. Bruce is a New York State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser who has served the Lower Hudson Valley for 35 years. He takes pride in the fact that he consistently receives higher reductions than many of his competitors. Bruce reminds his customers that mortgages can be paid off but taxes will continue going up – if you don’t file an appeal.
