For over 30 years the Smok-Shak Restaurant has been servin' up some of Oklahoma's best BBQ. From the slow-cooked meats to the homemade fixin's, the hand cut fries to the fresh baked bread -- we promise you won't leave here hungry. Our generous portions are served up with a friendly smile and the small-town flair that makes our little neck of the woods so special. Located 15 mi E of the City of Alva and 2 miles N/2 mi W of the City of Cherokee in Ingersoll, OK. Once a bustling rail town with a population of more than 1,500, Ingersoll, Oklahoma was known as a "sinful" town boasting seven licensed saloons and two pool halls. Now more than a century later, the rail stop and saloons are long gone; but there is still one sinful pleasure to be found in Ingersoll - the BBQ. Owner/operator Debra Engle opened the Smok-Shak in 1985. The oil field bust had left her with an old Pizza Hut building and a plot of land in a little ole ghost town on Highway 64. Looking for a way to make ends meet, Debbie decided to relocate the old building to Ingersoll and open a BBQ joint. With a little luck - and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears - she did just that. Now almost 30 years later the Smok-Shak is still serving up the finger-lickin' BBQ that our customers have come to know and love. Debbie still runs the restaurant.
