Skip Parker was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas (north of Austin). In school, he participated in many activities but really enjoyed band and choir. After high school, Skip Parker attended Stephen F Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Where he received his Bachelor's and Masters's degrees in Music. From there he taught as a school band director for 8 years, married Kathy, and they raised 3 children. From school teaching. Skip made the move to open his own insurance agency and has enjoyed that career for over 40 years while maintaining an active role in music.
Classic music oldies make up a huge part of his performance, where he sings plays bass guitar, and is backed by professional tracks providing entertainment as a one-man band. Skip sings for senior communities, birthday parties, anniversary gatherings, etc. Entertaining in an easy-going, amiable way endears him to his audiences.
