- The mission of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music is to conserve our musical legacy, to serve our society, and to create a vibrant future for our students through an intense, personal educational process. Objectives: To foster and present musical activities of the highest level; To develop young artists (composers, performers, teachers, and other professionals) who integrate themselves into the larger world; To contribute to students' personal well-being and social development as well as enable students to integrate their intellectual development and interpersonal skills with their professional growth; To honor tradition and encourage innovation; To recognize and present music as an expression of an international, multi-cultural community, which fosters a mutual respect for diversity; To enlarge the constituency and appreciation, support for, and participation in music everywhere.
