Company description
NowackHoward, LLC is the premier law firm specializing in advising and representing community associations. Led by attorneys with unmatched experience in this field and driven by a passion for protecting the rights and improving the operations of these associations, there is simply no other firm with greater depth of expertise or commitment to their clients.
Lawyers at NowackHoward are among the most experienced attorneys in the United States focusing on this specialized area of the law. The firm's founding partners alone have more than 60 years of experience between them and understand the value to our clients of knowing about and participating in the development of law and legislation, locally and nationally. We have also represented clients in many of Georgia's seminal community association appellate cases.
When state laws have needed to be written (or rewritten) to better protect community associations, our lawyers have been there. Our lawyers have written almost every law in Georgia that pertains to condominium and homeowners associations and lobbied to get them passed. We are also on the forefront of fighting against legislation detrimental to associations' interests.
We are deeply committed to volunteer leadership. Our lawyers regularly write and teach on a wide variety of community association topics. Articles can be found on our blog, The Community Counsel. For a complete listing of our class offerings, visit the NowackHoward Community Association Academy.
NowackHoward's lawyers are actively involved with the Community Associations Institute – a national organization designed to further responsible community association governance and management. Our founding partners, George E. Nowack, Jr. and Julie McGhee Howard, are both past presidents of CAI's Georgia Chapter and CAI National, the only two law partners in the country to have both served as CAI National Presidents. George and Julie are also fellows of the prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers and have been designated "Super Lawyers" by their peers. In addition, Rebecca Drube has been designated as a Rising Star.
George E. Nowack, Jr., Julie McGhee Howard, and NowackHoward have all earned the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the legal profession’s most prestigious rating service. This top rating is shared by an elite group of just eight percent of all attorneys. Martindale-Hubbells' rating systems have been around since 1896 and are trusted worldwide. Based on the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary in the United States and Canada, the AV Preeminent rating signifies the highest level of ethical standards and professional excellence in the areas of legal knowledge, analytical capability, judgment, communication ability, and legal experience
