Did you know that laser practitioners often claim their treatments permanently remove hair, but that the FDA only allows them to advertise as permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal? That's because laser works for some people, but not others, while electrolysis works for everyone - it is equally effective on all hair and skin colors. We can easily treat white, blond, fuzz, and mole hair; your skin color doesn't matter at all either (even very tan or dark skin).
We specialize in treating more complicated cases such as ingrown hair, pseudofolliculitis barbae and PCOS. And we can also shape your eyebrows (no more tweezing!) - or other areas.
Electrolysis can help you rid yourself of feeling self-conscious about needing to pluck. But it should be performed by a skilled electrologist in a professional center. Nios goes far beyond NY State electrolysis regulations: Our electrologists are all Certified Professional Electrologists (CPEs - possibly the only center in NYC to require that), undergo continuous training and evaluation, and use hospital-grade sanitation procedures, including single-use needles and ultrasound and dry heat sterilization.
