- During the month of October and from then until weather allows, the water taps, bathrooms and dump station facilities may be unavailable based upon the weather, one winterized water tap is available in the Quartzite campground. Firewood Notice: Currently, firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park, Trail or Forest properties from out of state or from more than 25 miles away from the destination campground. In addition, firewood that has been in a Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing for a trip. Sites 701 & 703(N. Lights) / 702(Quartzite) / 704-706(Ice Age) are for handicapped (ADA) persons only. Reserveable only by campers with disabilities!. Quartzite Sites 54-67 are open all year for reservations. All other sites in the Quartzite and Group Camp are available for 1st come / 1st served, when not on reservations. All other sites are closed to camping when not on reservations. Tepee Sites are located near the Ice Age Campsites. Pets must be on a leash (under 8') and attended at all times. All campers must arrive and be set up by 11 pm Electric boat motor only, no gas motors. Wisconsin Fishing License required; a trout stamp is required for trout fishing. Boy Scout / Girl Scout Jamboree (several thousand scouts) is the weekend before Columbus Day Weekend, every year. Vehicle admission stickers are required.Click here for cost of the sticker. Reservations cannot be cancelled online. Between early May and mid June for one day there will be aerial spraying for Gypsy Moths in the early morning hours, areas of the park may include the campground. The aerial spraying is not harmful to humans and visitors can go to website http://gypsymoth.wi.gov/ . Or they can call the 1800-642-MOTH info line or more information.
