- Mission
- MTSU has traditionally served a very diverse student body, in age, ability, background, and socio-economic status. The university has always had a large number of 'first generation' college students, and students who are self-supporting. The majority of the students in campus surveys traditionally comment that they work 20 hours or more while going to school. For these reasons MTSU is an exceptional school for students who have demanding personal situations, transfer students, and other non-traditional students.
