- Mission
- As a Christ-centered university, MidAmerica combines forward-thinking programs with eternal truth. As a community passionate about service, MNU will open your eyes to others needs and help you met them. As a family that recognizes each member's talents, MNU will turn your strengths into a life of purpose. MidAmerica Nazarene University is a private, liberal arts university offering more than 40 undergraduate degrees, as well as five professional graduate degrees in business, education, and counseling. MNU is located on a 105-acre campus in Olathe, Kan., a suburban location within 20 miles of the Kansas City area. More than 1,700 students from 30 church denominations make MNU their home. MNU nursing students master the latest patient-charting technology. Our business majors intern in businesses and organizations all around Kansas City's metropolitan area. Our criminal forensics students hone their skills in our advanced technology crime lab. In every department, a pioneering spirit to achieve beyond expectations drives learning. And it shows in innovative opportunities to put your knowledge to work. Professors at MNU take the time to know your story. They will build on your strengths and assist you in assessing your weaknesses, and they will adjust their teaching to ensure you achieve at a higher level. Our professors are here to help you find your career path and help you develop a life of clear purpose. Count on MNU to give you the support you need, when you need it. The MNU Kresge Academic Support Center provides free academic assistance to help you develop better study skills and tutoring for almost any course. We want you heart-deep in what happens here. All year long, student organizations plan campus-wide events, from weekly worship and intramural competitions to Late Night Breakfast during finals, to special events such as Homecoming, Thrift Store Prom, Faculty Follies, and more. A lot more. We're passionate about serving others. Whether that means being a campus leader, teaching at a reservation school in New Mexico, or installing water filters in Guatemala, at MNU you'll find all kinds of ways to use your talents to make the world a better place. Looking to grow as an athlete? As a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) competing at the Division 1 level in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, MNU offers you the chance to perfect your skills, square off against strong competitors, and grow in a Christian environment. With courses that instill marketable skills and a Career Development Center to walk you through all of the internship opportunities and the job-search process, you'll be more than ready for the job market. You'll also have MNU's alumni behind you and our graduates work for major corporations such as Accenture Consulting, Bayer, Cerner, Garmin, Hallmark, Olathe Medical Center, Pharmacia & Upjohn, Sprint and UPS. If you're a high school junior or senior, take part in SCOUT MNU, a two-day event that shows you what life is really like here. You can stay in the residence halls, sit in on classes, meet professors, and spend time getting to know our students. Save your spot at www.mnu.edu/events/scout.
