- The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas, with the exception of full-service cabins unless an alcohol permit has been issued in advance. Motor homes, by state law, are exempt. Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter. Park guests must pack out own trash. The pavilion at Martinak has easy access for caterers. Has a grill, drinking water available. Next to horseshoe pit, designated ball field nearby in sight of playground. Canoe rentals available. A Chesapeake Bay sportfishing license is required for fishing in the tidal water of the Choptank River and Watt's Creek. Generators are permitted, but all aspects of their use and operation must conform to the established quiet hours and all applicable safeguards designed to prevent disturbing other visitors and to preserve the peace and tranquility of the park environment, to include Comar 08.07.06.20(F) Senior citizens are entitled to a 50% discount Sunday through Thursday, if the stay encompasses a Friday and Saturday night (excluding holidays) the discount will only apply to the mid week nights. ALCOHOL POLICY EFFECTIVE 11/1/2009: THE CONSUMPTION OR POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE WILL BE PROHIBITED IN ALL STATE PARK AREAS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF INTERIOR AREAS OF FULL-SERVICE CABINS & MOTORHOMES. PERMITS MAY BE ISSUED UPON REQUEST BY THE PARK MANAGER FOR SPECIAL EVENTS OPERATING UNDER A USE AGREEMENT. ALCOHOL PERMIT: ALCOHOL PERMITS WILL ONLY BE ISSUED THROUGH A RESERVATION FOR A DESIGNATED SHELTER, OR OTHER APPROVED FACILITY. A $35 FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH ALCOHOL PERMIT.
