Karen DeSoto is an influential legal name in New Jersey in general and Hudson County in particular. She is a career lawyer who founded the Center for Legal Justice, and was the first woman, first Hispanic and the youngest person to ever be appointed (by the late mayor/ Senator Glenn D. Cunningham) as Chief Corporate Counsel for the city of Jersey City, NJ. Always active in her community, and her dedication to her charitable work, she is often honoured with awards like Humanitarian of the Year, by the City of Bayonne Youth Center.
