Company description
I am licensed by the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I am EMDR trained and a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I have been interviewed by the Los Angeles Times and KCET on issues such as relationships, depression, and adolescents. I have been a guest lecturer for the Mariposa Women’s Center, Junior League of Orange County, local high schools, and various other organizations. I am co-founder of the non-profit Strength in Support, which provides behavioral health services to veterans and their families.
I have a private practice office located on the Laguna Hills/Irvine border in Orange County. In my private practice, I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families on their mental health goals in an atmosphere based on mutual respect. It is my obligation to work as a therapist/counselor within the laws of the state of California and to work within the ethical codes of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). In my work as a counselor, I am genuine and directive. I believe in working empathically and collaboratively with my clients to meet their goals. It is my belief that the process of change occurs through questioning, changing cognitive processes, and gaining further understanding and insight about ourselves, our families, and other systems we are members of. Some ways we can gain further understanding and insight is by identifying patterns, roles, rituals, and messages.
