Known to be one of the best fishing destinations on the coastal bend Aransas Pass has great fishing all around it year round. If you want to catch Redfish (Red Drum) in the flats and off the oyster reefs then you have come to the right area. Between the Dagger Flats, Hog Island, South Bay, Redfish Bay, Stedmen Island and Ransom Island there is no shortage of places to find Redfish. If Speckled Trout (Sea Trout) are what you are after the Lydia Ann Channel, Dagger Island, Morris and Cummings Cut, Shellbank Island and Pelican Island have some of the best speckled trout fishing on the Texas Coastal Bend.
There is a few boat ramps we can use in the area to get to the right spots and make sure we maximize our time fishing and not driving around. Conn Brown Harbor Park is the primary boat ramp we like to use but there is also Ransom Park and Boat Ramp as well as Tarpon Shores boat ramp. Between these 3 boat ramps we can make sure we are have the shortest drive and the smoothest ride depending on the weather. We also have fishing guides in Rockport that do a wonderful job.
The main fishing performed in Aransas Pass if fishing the 14,000 acres of grass flats for Redfish and the surrounding ship channels and holes for trout. There is also the chance to catch some offshore species inshore because of how close the gulf is and the connection of the Lydia Ann Channel the occasional Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack and Red Snapper can be caught.
The only down side to so many beautiful fishing locations is all the different places the fish could be but you leave that to us. We have been fishing these local bay systems all of our lives and have learned all the spots the fish like to hold up during different times of year and different weather patterns. What really matters is that we fish these waters every day. We don’t have to check the weather pattern, sunrise, barometric pressure and ask our crystal ball where the Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder will be we know where to find them because we were just catching them yesterday.
If you want to spend more time fishing and less time searching for fish, towing a boat, getting bait, dealing with the rush at the boat ramp in the morning and then again in the afternoon and cleaning your fish, boat and truck when your down. Then you want to give Ingleside Fishing Charters a call because we take care of everything all you need to do is come prepared to have a great day. I’m Captain Eddie Jenkins give me a call 361-332-4949.
