Mountains, art, culture, real people, clear skies and outstanding food – Tucson is exceptional. There is also a big-time mid-century modern architectural element to the city. So, we purchased a 1960’s designed motel in a great location that had seen better days.
Over the course of a year, a large team of Tucsonans restored it – and then some… original pool and spa with baby blue accents, sauna lined with old cedar, tongue-and-groove wood ceilings, A-shaped entrance to represent A-Mountain in the background, bricks, post and beams, local art and a lobby with original décor from top designers of the era. True to its roots, the hotel emphasizes function and affordability – offering fellow wanderers local style and resort amenities at low rates.
