Jackie & Michael Melinger opened their first Home Instead Senior Care office in Skokie, IL in May of 2001. Soon they expanded, opening additional offices in Park Ridge and Chicago.
Home Instead Senior Care is involved in numerous local causes, including being an annual sponsor of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer's in both Chicago and the North Shore suburbs, providing volunteer pet therapy in local nursing homes, and other senior living facilities, and volunteering in the North Shore Senior Center’s Escorted Transportation Service.
The Home Instead Senior Care family network of locally owned franchise offices was developed with a passionate desire to be your trusted source in helping your family keep your aging mother, father, grandparents or friends in their home as they grow older.
In the North Side of Chicago and Near North Suburbs area you will find a locally owned and operated, growing home care business that began with the desire to serve the needs of our community's elderly adults.
Today, many relationships are formed daily through CAREGivers who provide home care help to clients and their families who desire assistance with activities that used to be simple. Tasks like grabbing a can of soup from the top shelf, opening the mail, reading a book, folding laundry, tying shoelaces or scrapbooking family history are not as easy as they used to be for many seniors.
Services may include assistance with trips to the doctor, reminders to take the right medication at the right time, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, shopping and even Alzheimer's care. The result is companionship allowing seniors to feel safe and independent while they age in place in the home they've lived in for years.
