Heartland Agricultural Services, LLC first began in 1988 as a financial consulting agency for farmers recovering from the 1980s Midwestern farm crisis. As the number of consulting clients grew, so did the opportunities to assist clients in either downsizing or expanding their operations. There was only one problem: no real estate broker specializing in agricultural land existed in which Heartland could refer such clients. With its foundation of knowledge and experience in the agricultural world, Heartland was prompted to acquire its own license to broker farmland. For the past three decades Heartland remains the prominent broker for farmland throughout the entire state of Michigan.
