Dr. Hamid Mir is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in neuro and orthopedic spine surgery. With 15 years of experience, he excels in minimally invasive spine procedures utilizing advanced microscopic techniques.
Dr. Mir earned his B.S. in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating magna cum laude in 1994. He pursued his medical degree at the State University of New York, HSCB, graduating cum laude and gaining membership in the esteemed Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. Following this, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, including specialized training in complex adult deformities and pediatric scoliosis at Shriners Hospital. In 2004, he concluded an intensive orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Mir is dedicated to advancing spine surgery by integrating cutting-edge techniques into his practice. He holds a patent for a minimally invasive spinal device and has conducted extensive research, presenting at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons conference and authoring textbook chapters on spinal instrumentation techniques. He maintains active membership in prominent organizations such as the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and California Orthopaedic Association.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Mir cherishes moments with his wife and three children. He indulges in yoga, showcases his talent as a classical pianist, and relishes tennis matches.
