The Helfer family has been importing diamonds and making jewelry for three generations, starting with Gregg's grandfather David. David opened his first wholesale office in downtown Chicago in 1933, and in 1939 he opened his first retail store in Kankakee. Over time, David opened more than fifteen stores throughout the Midwest. His son Edd and his wife Ellen continued the family business, consolidating into the Chicago region. In 2000, their son Gregg opened his own office in the historic Maller's building on Chicago's Jewelers Row.
In 2004, Gregg's growing family wholesale, internet and retail business moved to a larger office and showroom space to enhance the overall customer experience. In 2004, Gregg also welcomed his brother Michael into the business. With Michael's 20 plus years of sales and marketing background, he oversees the daily operations of the company and the new business expansion. With his family background and his own experience in the jewelry industry, Michael's knowledge and expertise is second to none. As a third generation jeweler, he strives to offer the kind of service that he would hope to receive when purchasing luxury items. Michael places a strong emphasis on providing a no-pressure environment where you can comfortably browse our selections. He wants each of his customers to be totally satisfied with their purchase, and will do whatever it takes to make sure that happens.
