Company description
Built in 1929, the Great Arizona Puppet Theater now resides inside a former church in Downtown Phoenix. The building was deemed a National Register of Historic Place in the early 1970s and also underwent a substantial renovation in 1996 before opening up as a performance space. The former halls, chapels and rooms now serve a multitude of purposes, from puppet construction to birthday party rooms.
Children, families and adults come for quality entertainment year round, from local puppeteers and national touring acts. Theater productions change regularly, showcasing both classic tales and new exciting stories. Children as young as two years old are mesmerized by these engaging, kid-friendly shows. If you’re looking for field trip or birthday party ideas in Phoenix, consider the Great Arizona Puppet Theater! Our private party room allows kids to make their own puppets and put on a show using their new creations.
Our puppet theater is not just for kids! We also feature adult puppet slams for those ages 18+. These shows can be funny, edgy or even scary, so you can be prepared for a fun night full of surprises!
Our historic theater is located in Downtown Phoenix, overlooking Margaret T. Hance Park, just north of Roosevelt at 302 W Latham St. Check out our event calendar for upcoming shows or book your next event with us today!
