As a vascular surgeon, I discuss all available options with patients and recommend what I believe to be the best treatment. In the end, however, it is up to the patient to make an informed decision as to what is best for him/her. It is then up to me to perform the procedure in the most thoughtful, careful, and up-to-date manner.
