GEAR-X was founded in January 2001 by Jeff "Kiwi" Owen, owner of Special Projects Motor Sports (co-owned by the late Don Wilson). GEAR-X began as a sideline but quickly became one of the best-known brands in Honda transmission and aftermarket racing parts with a worldwide distribution network.
