No matter what the weather, your 9 ½ mile drive will allow you to relax, enjoy panoramic vistas and have nose-to-nose encounters with up to 1,000 animals from your own car window or guided tour van. Experience the wonder of hand feeding a giraffe as she leans in your sun roof or window. Our guests may not realize that behind the pastoral beauty is an intense race against time. Fossil Rim plays an important role in international efforts to save endangered species; its success in breeding certain animals and reintroduction of some species to their native range is phenomenal. Many procedures, techniques and practices developed at the Rim are replicated around the world. We are an independent, self-financed non-profit 501(c)3 corporation that receives no government subsidizing. We rely on donors, members and guests that want to make a solid investment in the future.
