The year was 1976. After working for the Leeds Shoe Company for about 20 years, rising from a young shoe salesman to becoming the Executive Vice President of the Women’s Division, Dale Dotson decided to open his very own shoe store. With the knowledge and experience he gained working in the corporate world, he successfullyopened up his first store in the Volusia Mall in Daytona Beach, Florida. After 18 years, the decision was made to move to a much larger location, where the store remains to this day.
His son, Russell Dotson, and his two grandsons, Christopher and Daniel Dotson, became integral parts of the business over the years. While Russell took charge of the day to day operations, Daniel is the head of the Pedorthic Department. Christopher decided to branch out into shoe repair. He spent years training to be a cobbler before opening up Speedway Shoe Repair.
