- Firewood Notice: Currently, firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park, Trail or Forest properties from out of state or from more than 25 miles away from the destination campground. In addition, firewood that has been in a Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing for a trip. North Campground sites 2,3, & 4 are open all year. North Campground sites 1, 5-33 are on 1st come / 1st served basis, when not on reservations. 2010: North sites 1, 5-33: reservations 05/01/09 - 11/01/09. South 1A sites 34-38: reservations 05/21/10 - 10/15/10. South 2A sites 39-43: reservations 05/21/10 - 10/15/10. South 3A sites 44-56: reservations 05/21/10 - 10/15/10. Backpack bp1: reservations 05/21/10 - 10/15/10. Group Camp: reservations 05/17/09 - 10/15/10. Pets must be on a leash and attended at all times. the maintrail,doughboy's nature trail is off-limits to pets. Water system will be turned off on 10/09. Water systems may have to be turned off earlier than 10/09 due to freezing weather. Group campsite is for tents only and one wheeled camper allowed. Vehicle admission stickers are required.Click here for cost of the sticker. Reservations cannot be cancelled online. Open sites for 2011 North Campground sites 2-4 open for reservations all year round. North Campground sites 1, 5-33 open for walk-in April 1st thru December 1st. North Campground sites 1, 5-33 open for reservations May 20th thru October 15th. Backpack site open for reservations May 1st thru October 15th. Group site open for reservations May 1st thru October 15th. South Campground sites 34 thru 56 open for reservations May 20th thru October 15th.
