Company description
San Francisco's Friends of Recreation & Parks is leading the campaign to restore the western hemisphere's oldest existing public conservatory. Prominently situated near the eastern end of the world-famous Golden Gate Park, the Conservatory of Flowers features tropical palms, orchids, bromeliads, carnivorous plants and other rare species in a series of walk-through climate controlled chambers. Closed since 1995 due to structural damage suffered in the worst windstorm in the Park's history, the Conservatory is scheduled to reopen to the public in the Spring of 2003 with dramatic new exhibits and horticultural displays.
