ABOUT THIS BUSINESS
Specialties:
We build custom picture frames on the premises - assuring quality work completed in a timely fashion. All of our picture framers are highly experienced, with an arts background. We are happy to help you choose materials from our wide selection of picture frame mouldings (over 2,500 samples) and matboard to create a handsome and archival design. You are welcome to bring in your artwork, memorabilia, photographs, or needlework any time for a free quote.
Using a Wizard computerized mat-cutter, we can create precise and elegant mats. Multiple openings, decorative borderwork and complex designs are all easily achieved.
Our boutique gallery features outstanding local artists working in Modern Realism, Art Nouveau, Cratsman, and Pre-Raphealite styles. Stop by any time to refresh your senses. We offer a large selection of blank greeting cards, including a range of Edmonds scenes perfect for sharing your "Edmonds Kind of Day" with someone special.
HISTORY
Established in 2006
Michael Christopher opened the framing and gallery location after working in the industry for over 10 years. As a working artist and designer the focus is on meeting the framing & presentation needs of customers and other artists.
We consult with the customer/artist before beginning the initial design session to discover what their goals and objectivs are, and help achieve these with a participatory approach.
Michael and the production team who work with him are traditional craftsmen who love the hands-on creation and problem-solving involved in picture framing. Every day brings a different artwork or photo to beautify - and each one has an interesting story behind it.
Meet the Business Owner: Michael C.
MichaeL Christopher became interested in Custom Framing as an art collector. He felt the quaility and craftmanship in custom framing was lacking from the mass produced enviornment that was available as the only choice.
He is continually learning new approaches to framing and design through membership in the Professional Picture Framer's Association as well as the local Evergreen Picture Framer's Guild, which hosts annual education retreats.
Michael spends as much free time as possible creating her new designs, many of which can be viewed at his gallery - Christopher Gallery
