- Castro Valley Independent Baseball League -- often referred to as CVI -- is dedicated to providing an opportunity for kids ages 5 through 18 to play baseball. Being an independent league, CVI has no residency requirements and therefore draws from Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and other nearby cities. The goal of the league is to provide a positive atmosphere that provides kids the opportunity to participate in a team sport and interact with other players. All players have an equal chance to play amongst others within their skill level and learn the game of baseball. Most importantly, everyone has fun. The league has four locations for games and practice. Canyon Middle School is utilized for the Intermediate,Senior and C Divisions. Strobridge and Marshall School are exclusively used for the Junior divisions.
