I used to be a broker in 2005 and did well when the industry was strong. When it crashed, I found myself owing the IRS a bunch of money that I didn’t have. They made it possible to get me caught up and I didn’t need to sell my house to pay my debt back. I am in an easily affordable payment and was granted the amount of time I needed to get this debt under control. I never denied that I owed it, just can't give the IRS a big check right away. Around 3-4 years back when I retired, I took everything I got from my 401K. I assumed that once I got the money the tax was taken out. I'm incorrect. I was wrong to believe the IRS wouldn’t come after my government check. They garnished me for more than a year and I finally called these lawyers for help. I am happy I did. I can finally rest in my retiring days.
