More details
- Mission
- At the core of the liberal arts education offered at Bridgewater College is a distinctive program known as the Personal Development Portfolio (PDP) program. The PDP program, required for all students, is a comprehensive approach encouraging students to cultivate four dimensions of personal development: intellectual growth and discovery, citizenship and community responsibility, ethical and spiritual growth, and emotional maturation and physical health. The program centerpiece is the personal development portfolio, which all students complete prior to graduation. Personal essays are completed each year as the student reflects on specific experiences that were significant or meaningful in his or her life. The complete portfolio includes documentation of achievement in all four dimensions, including participation in service-learning, the student's resume and evidence of career planning. This commitment to personal development is an outgrowth of Bridgewater College's mission to educate and develop the whole person.
