Mission
Founded in 1897, Bay Path College has a history of developing innovative educational programs in direct response to the changing workplace. Providing a supportive and highly personalized environment, the College is known for small classes where learning is valued, knowledge is prized, and the spirit and potential of its students is cultivated and celebrated. The 48-acre main campus is located in the historic community of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and has approximately 2000 students enrolled in the Undergraduate College for women, the One-Day-A-Week Saturday College for adult women, and the Graduate School for men and women, which offers nine distinctive graduate programs. Bay Path is both a residential and commuter College, and provides on campus and online programming for all our student populations. The undergraduate programs offers a wide-array of majors and minors, including our Honors Program and such concentrations as biology, biotechnology, business, criminal justice, forensic psychology, forensic science, education, legal studies, liberal studies, psychology, and occupational therapy. Bay Path Online is the College's initiative to offer select graduate programs online, thus providing new options to pursue educational opportunities. Bay Path also has two satellite campuses. In 2003, the College established a second location for its highly-successful One-Day-A-Week Saturday College for adult women in the Worcester area (Sturbridge/Charlton). In 2007, the Burlington (MA) campus was opened offering the One-Day-A-Week Saturday College and select graduate programs. Bay Path College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, and is authorized to grant associate in arts, associate in science, bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and master of science degrees. In addition, Bay Path is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM), the Women's College Coalition (WCC), and the Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield (CCGS). The occupational therapy program (BA/MOT) has been granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, PO Box 31220, Bethesda, MD 20824-1220. Bay Path's legal programs, as well as the certificate of advanced paralegal studies, are approved by the American Bar Association.
