- Services
- Aspira Spa aims to synthesize and represent the ancient healing principles and philosophies of non-Western cultures. The 20, 000-square-foot facility features a color scheme that mirrors the major elements of the surrounding landscape, from blue-green (signifying the lake) to copper (signifying the red clay underneath the spa). Prominent in the spa design are such substances as mahogany and walnut wood and stones indigenous to the region. In addition to 22 wet and dry treatment rooms, the facility encompasses a spa studio for movement and fitness classes, a relaxation lounge with a year-round outdoor whirlpool, a cafe serving spa cuisine, and a serene meditation sanctuary. Signature Spa Suite Experiences are administered in private treatment suites, each of which has a private fireplace and whirlpool. Experiences range in duration from two hours to 210 minutes and can involve up to four spa clients at once. Inspired by the Native Americans who once gathered at Elkhart Lake, Sacred Waters is an experience that incorporates marine-based elements and therapeutic baths for healing and re-centering. The alternative-therapy focus of the spa is not confined to the aforementioned suite experiences, however. The toning and hydrating Yin Yang Osmosis Facial can be tailored to either sex according to Asian-inspired concepts of yin and yang. The 90-minute Aspira Chroma Facial integrates chromatherapy, lymphatic drainage, and pressure point massage into a results-oriented treatment that is offered as an individual service or as part of a series. The Osthoff Resort's fitness center offers round-the-clock access to a full complement of aerobic and weight-training equipment. The resort has an indoor swimming pool and two outdoor pools, one of which is kidney-shaped, the other of which can be used for lap or recreational swimming.
- Activities
- Elkhart Lake's spectacular surroundings provide a wealth of vacation activities for visitors regardless of the season. The Osthoff Resort's Pleasures Program helps families take advantage of what the area has to offer during the summer months and holiday season. Activities for children only and for the whole family are included, from morning Coffee Cruises and kiddie cooking classes to all-ages hayrides and beach bonfires. The property's 500-foot sand beach includes picnic areas, grills, a playground, and a volleyball court. Paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and sailboats can be rented through the hotel, and larger parties can enjoy an afternoon excursion on a pontoon boat that can accommodate up to 12 guests. In winter, a pond provides an ideal locale for ice skating. A tennis court is also available for guest use. In the towns surrounding the resort, winding rural roads and pastoral scenery invite mountain bikers to pedal away (bikes can be rented through the property). Ice fishing, sledding, and sleigh rides through the snow-swaddled winter Wisconsin landscape can be arranged as well. Kettle Moraine National Forest is situated 15 minutes from the resort by car, offering more than 50, 000 acres of rolling glacial hills, lakes, and restored prairie. Equestrian, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trails of varying difficulties total nearly 300 miles.
- Rooms And Dining
- The Osthoff Resort's 245 guest rooms feature either woodland or lake views. Accommodations range in size from 305 square feet for a guest room (28 square meters) to 2, 309 square feet (215 square meters) for a three-bedroom corner lakeside premier suite. All rooms have king-sized beds, private balconies, and two-person whirlpool baths, while suites come with additional luxuries such as dining areas, washer/dryers, and extra living space. Two on-property restaurants offer casual dining for lunch and dinner in a lakefront setting. Lola's on the Lake is a 100-seat eatery with large windows that face Elkhart Lake and the surrounding hills. The innovative regional cuisine on offer here includes specialties such as salmon with citrus couscous and grilled Colorado lamb loin. The family-friendly Otto's provides a children's menu in addition to seasonal outdoor patio dining. Among the American favorites served are club sandwiches, light pasta dishes, steaks, and personal or family-style pizza. Many of the menu items at Otto's are also available poolside.
