Veterinarian Alexia Wilde Maclae grew up in southeastern Ohio and it was apparent from an early age that she loved animals and they her. After graduating from Cornell University, Alexia lived in Asia for a year and a half modeling and teaching English. Upon her return to the US Dr. Alexia Maclae attended and graduated from Ohio State's College of Veterinary Medicine. Alexia has experience using her veterinary degree in numerous ways in order to help advance what is available to treat pets and further the human animal bond. Alexia Maclae, DVM founded and now is the director of Saved from Slaughterhouse, an organization that buys and rehabilitates horses that would otherwise be sent to Canada and slaughterhouse. In order to finance her humane organization Alexia breeds Friesian, gypsy horses and hybrids.
