Airport Overview
Although the airport does not have direct international passenger flights, the airport has a single, elongated terminal building with 12 gates. Six gates are located along the length of the terminal (three on either side) and a circular area at the end has six more gates. The terminal handles more passenger traffic than it was originally designed for. Nineteen planes are berthed every night, and the circular area - where Southwest Airlines, the airport's largest carrier, controls three gates - is especially vulnerable to crowds and long lines. The airport announced, in August of 2008, that it had approved a plan to renovate the terminal over a 15-year period. The central component of the plan would be to expand the terminal from 12 to 17 gates. The Arkansas Gallery, located adjacent to Gate 6, is a showcase for the arts as well as other cultural and educational opportunities our city and state have to offer.
Parking
Parking options - from long and short-term surface lots to a new covered parking deck, featuring access to the terminal via enclosed skybridge. Free shuttle bus service is available from the long-term parking lots to the terminal and shuttle shelters are also located in these lots where customers can wait for the shuttle bus protected from the elements. Parking slots for the physically challenged are available in the short-term surface lots and the deck. These spaces are charged at the less expensive long-term parking rate. Please watch for signs indicating the location of these close-in slots. Vehicles using these slots must be properly tagged. Information Desk
The Information Booth, operated by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, is located adjacent to the Daily News in the pre-security screening checkpoint area. It operates daily from 8 am until 6 pm The booth has been moved from its former location to a newly constructed public area to allow customers to transact business at the booth out of the flow of heavy pedestrian traffic. A wealth of information about our city and state is available at the booth. The airport paging service is available 24 hours a day by calling (501) 375-1509. The Airport Angels Squadron is made up of volunteers who give of their time to make the airport experience more pleasant.
Business Facilities
Telephones are located throughout the terminal, including a bank of sit-down phone stations in the new public lounge just prior to the security-screening checkpoint. Many of the telephones on the concourse level are modem ready/data port capable to facilitate computer use. White courtesy telephones for internal airport use are also located throughout the terminal. There are three public conference rooms available for use by the public for in-airport meetings. Information regarding the rooms can be obtained by calling 372-3439, Option 3 for administrative offices. There is a small charge assessed for use of these conference rooms.
Disabled Services
Fully accessible facility for those who are physically challenged. A number of designated close-in parking slots are available in all surface parking lots and the parking deck. Elevators are available for those unable to use the escalator and restores are ADA compliant. The free shuttle buses serving the long-term surface parking lots can also accommodate passengers with disabilities. There are also 36 ADA-rated pay telephones, eight of which are modem ready.
The baggage claim wing of the terminal is on the first level of the terminal building. There are signs above each bag belt to indicate airline and flight number for the incoming baggage. In addition, American Eagle, Delta and Southwest all operate baggage service offices in this area. Passengers on other airlines should check with their carrier for baggage services.
