Adam S. Goldstein, DO, FACS, FASMBS, is a board certified general and bariatric surgeon. Fellowship-trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, Dr. Goldstein performs minimally invasive general surgery as well as laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, Lap-Band™ surgery, and revisional bariatric surgery. To date, Dr. Goldstein has performed thousands of general surgical and bariatric operations. A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Goldstein obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Following this, he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he achieved honors in twenty-three separate courses, placing him in the top five percent of his medical school class. He completed his general surgery residency and his fellowship in advanced minimally invasive, robotic, and bariatric surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. At the conclusion of his surgical training, Dr. Goldstein was the recipient of the Resident Achievement Award in Laparoscopic Surgery from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He has authored numerous publications related to advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, has instructed residents and students at some of the nation's leading teaching hospitals, and has served as Director of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Goldstein is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has also served as an executive committee member of the Camden County Medical Society, and is currently a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Medical Society of New Jersey. He has been named a “Top Doc” by South Jersey Magazine five times. Dr. Goldstein specializes in the following types of surgery: general, advanced laparoscopic, hernia, reflux surgery, gallbladder disease, appendicitis, spleen and stomach disease, colon and small intestine diseases. I am a fellowship trained, board certified surgeon dedicated to treating patients with the same care and respect that I would treat my own family members.
