Learning about awareness is an important aspect of self-defense and we cover it in detail. Our self-defense curriculum is about doing everything possible to not be put in a place where you will have to defend yourself...and in the unfortunate circumstance you do have to defend yourself, you will have some background in knowing what your options are and be less likely to freeze up. Always Remember... running away if possible is the best option. Offensive techniques are limited to the older students. The younger students primarily learn conflict resolution and alarm techniques. That is only a quick look of the physical portion of the program. The academic portion includes lessons for learning and implementing * goal setting * self-discipline * focus * self control * team work * respect * courtesy * balance etc. Character education and development is a big part of our curriculum. You can expect to take 4 plus years to reach your Black Belt. We are not a belt factory .... you have to earn it! We also have the Li'l Warriors program for the younger children from 4 to 6 years old.
